I know there are many people out there who are uncomfortable with death...especially the death of a baby. I used to be one of those people. It terrified me...it didn't happen to people I knew...To me, this was things that used to happen to other people.
Now that I have experienced an infant loss, I am not as uncomfortable with it as I used to be. I now can look at pictures of other's babies who have passed and I don't feel the same as I used to. I see them as the beautiful babies that they are, and know how much they meant to their mommies and daddies. I understand the need to want to share the photos with others.
And that is what I am going to do now too. I am sharing my photos of Bailey. The first two photos are also shown in the side-bar all throughout this blog. However, the last picture has not been seen by anyone and is different than the other photos. If you are uncomfortable with seeing pictures of a baby who has passed, I strongly suggest you stop here.
This picture of Bailey was taken shortly after she passed by the a nurse in the NICU. It is one of my favorite pictures we have of her. She looks absolutely perfect, and just looks like she is sleeping like any other baby.
This picture was also taken shortly after she passed by a nurse in the NICU. The bear her feet are next to looks huge in this photo, but it is actually only the size of my hand (if that big) and actually fits in her memorial box the hospital made for us. Bailey's feet were the size of half of my index finger.
This photo was taken by Eden Wilson Photography on May 1, 2010. She is a volunteer photographer for an organization called Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. This service was offered to us while we were still in the hospital. This is the first time I have shown this picture to anyone except my mother-in-law.

She is beautiful! Ran across your blog from BabyCenter and wanted to offer my sympathy for the loss of your daughter. My son was stillborn in 2004 at 23 weeks, so I share your grief.
Just wanted to let you know how precious I think Bailey is, and am thinking warm thoughts for you and your family.

Bailey is a beautiful name, and you picked a beautiful name that matches your little girl perfectly. I'm sure she smiles down from heaven everytime you say her name, and when you think of her, I'm sure she is thinking of you too!
Nae,
I love this picture. I am so glad you guys were given the opportunity to have the pictures taken. I know you will treasure them forever. Thank you for sharing her with us! I love you!!!

Bailey, is so beautiful!!
Your baby girl is beautiful. My deepest sympathies for your loss. I too lost my baby girl due to IC at 20 weeks less than two months ago. The grief is unbearable some days but I know that there is hope. Hang in there. You will be the mother to an earth angel soon.
These photos are beautiful, Danae, because Bailey is beautiful. I love the little feet. It amazes me how perfect my daughter's feet were and they were just a little smaller than Bailey's! Thank you for sharing with us. I think it's a brave thing and we have the right to share our sweet babies with the world. I wish I'd had Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep come out for my daughter!
Nae, that last picture is awesome. That is a great organization to do something like this for you guys. Your memories will live on in your heart, but for those of us who did not get to meet her will now know her face to her name. Thank you so much for sharing these photos with us!!
