Cravings

Two posts in one night.  I had intended on posting this originally, but had to post the "No Risk, No Reward" blog while it was fresh on my mind.

Tonight, on my way home from work, the topic on our local radio station was "What Are You Craving?".  People mentioned all sorts of food, and it got me to thinking...what am I craving?  So, let's go back...

When I first found out I was pregnant, I craved mashed potatoes and Mexican food (not at the same time).  Later, I craved Dark Chocolate Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.  Then I craved pickles...I had bought 3 jars of pickles a couple of days before going into labor.

Now, I don't crave the food as much.  I crave to have my need to be a mom (to an earthly baby) fulfilled.  I crave the sunshine...Oh, how I wish it would stop raining (at least for a couple of days).  I have a craving to "get involved"...to help someone who's been through this, or is going through it.  I crave to talk about Bailey.

What did you crave when you were pregnant and what do you crave now?

Danae! mashed potatoes were the ONLY thing I could keep down with Stevie until like 11 weeks :) I also craved gas station nachos and anything spicy (I literally put hotsauce on EVERYTHING). Now, I crave a baby. That's it.

I craved cottage cheese starting right before my second trimester. Then the peanut butter cravings started...mmmmm I also craved OJ throughout the pregnancy which was a nice change since I don't typically like OJ! Now...I crave to be pregnant. I want to be a mother to an Earth baby so badly. I know that I need to open myself up to other cravings and longings. Once in awhile, I will crave to start my research again or to begin a new project. But I keep coming back to motherhood and stopping there. :-/

Motherhood and a healthy baby of course!

I've never really experienced any real cravings. Overall, I think I crave salty foods - but that might be because I'm drinking so much water lately.

Oh my stars I ate so much pizza when I was pregnant with Charlotte I can't even look at it now. Pizza and pasta cravings stayed with me through my entire pregnancy. And now I'm with the rest of you: craving a living baby.

I craved burritos. Ahhh burritos were my FAVORITE! with green sauce mmm (SPICY of course) and definitely lots of sour candy! I couldn't get enough of it. But now like you I only crave a living baby :/

I craved fruit when I was pregnant. I could have eaten it all the time, especially watermelon. I craved pickles for awhile, until I ate one, threw it up and had the worst heartburn after. I still have the jar of pickles in the fridge. I also craved cheese slices and tea, but I didn't drink much tea because of the caffeine.

Now I crave to have Jacob back, healthy and strong. I crave to be pregnant again. I crave to feel normal again, but I also don't want to because deep down, I don't really want to move on as it feels like I am moving farther away from Jacob.

I also crave to help other people. I liked my job before, I still do, but I don't feel like I am making any difference in the world. I help the people around me, but not in a huge, life-changing way. I crave to change someone's life for the better, to help someone through a dark time like this. Sometimes I tell myself that maybe Jacob died so that I could help other women get through this. I hope that I do help someone. It won't justify his death or give reason to it, but it will help slightly to deal with it.

When I was pregnant with the twins I craved a different salad dressing every week. I also craved different flavors of M&M's. It was like they were fighting over who got what already.

I also crave to be pregnant again. I crave to be a mommy to living twins. I am grateful for my 4 and 2 year olds, but I was looking forward to having twin boys also. I also crave to help other mommies who have gone through this just as everyone here has helped me.

I craved Big Macs which was weird since I haven't had one in about 15 years, didn't even really like them...but I guess Blaine did. And mashed potatoes, chicken, ice cream. Now I am still craving junk food...the sugar keeps me on a bit of a high. And of course I am craving pregnancy. I want to be pregnant so bad. Preferably with Blaine but since that won't happen I will take another little blessing.

now, there's only one thing i want: a healthy full-term pregnancy, and a live baby.
